Love Me Love Me Mushrooms

….no, no, no, it’s not smoke, it’s not smoke in my eyes girl, it’s tears….i feel like it’s raining out my eye, got a cloud in my head and it rains out of my eye, every time i think about you….” Grandmaster Cap

If you don’t dig soul music ………. if you too hardcore to get down to a love song ……… if you never cried a thug tear in your life……. then this show is not for you…

……. it was raining hard in Johannesburg that night, but it felt like it was raining everywhere in the world………..Radio Robert dug deep into his heart of rare soul wrenching grooves ….. the brothers Grandmaster Cap & oNe:Drous oNe reached down to the place where rhyme meets the loving embers of romance & heartbreak …..

But the night wasn’t all tears & heartbreak……… there were visits to the Bioscope, kickin’ it with girls from the village & close cut shaves with aboNoxman who are slick with the okapi…….. back to the original trio, none absconding…..

Unbeknownst to us, this would be the Mushroom Hour Half Hour’s last show at the ICR headquarters on the roof of that abandoned building above the cop shop…… Gentrification got us! The building was bought by a property developer and refurbished into upmarket residential lofts….. &  we were without a home….

But change is always good …… ICR provided the platform that started this here thing and for this, we are eternally grateful…….

the end of the prayer but the beginning of something new…..the beginning of the next life….

You can apparently download the show here.
